WTF?!?! Batman to Die?!  
Found this through my flist:

Death Of The Dark Knight?

Batman is set to be killed off after 70 years of crime-fighting - in the comic book which created the cartoon superhero.

Rumours are rife that in the next issue of DC Comics' Batman, published on Thursday, Bruce Wayne will meet a grisly end.

The latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, starring Christian Bale as Wayne, was a box office smash this year and another film is said to be in the offing - but it appears the comic book equivalent has now run its course.

The Bruce Wayne character is now expected to retire from his duties, perhaps leading to a new Batman or an entirely different superhero to take his place.
I'll believe it when I see it.

It would be more shocking if they didn't already do it with Superman... and that's still running, so meh.

Batman RIP has been running for a while. Rumor is that Bruce isn't DYING persay, but he will be out of the comics for something like 12-18 months.

Eh. Don't know. But I heard Catwoman might be headlining Detective Comics, so I'm cool with that :)

Relax, he's only "Comic Book Dead"
The Flash (Barry Allen) - Was dead, is coming back.
Superman - was dead, came back after a year.
Green Arrow - died, got brought back by Hal Jordan.
Wonder Woman - gets killed on a regular basis.
Hal Jordan - went mad, became a villain, redeemed himself by giving his life to restart the sun, was so dead he became the Spectre, is now back as Green Lantern.
Jason Todd - Beaten to death and blown up by the Joker. Is now running around the DCU.

And that's just the ones I can think of in the DCU off the top of my head (don't get me started about Jean Grey). Honestly, I don't think there's much to worry about.
