Happy Shiny Good Time Guy

Yesterday I had nothing planned, so I caught up on a couple of movies on my "movies I've not seen that people keep giving me shit about" list, including:

L.A. Confidential: This movie blew me away. The word that comes to mind is "masterful." Masterful acting by Spacey, Crowwe, Basigner, Pearce, DeVito and Cromwell, who were all just amazing. Masterful art direction and cinematography. A masterful story, wonderfully told story that had me going the entire way through. I totally loved this movie, and when I start buying DVD's again, this will be one of the first.

Gangs of New York: DAMN that movie was violent. I mean I was warned at this movie's level of violence but WOW was it a bloodbath. GREAT acting all around, ESPECIALLY by Daniel Day Lewis (who creeped the fuck out of me) and Cameron Diaz, who surprised me with her dramatic chops. Leonardo DiCaprio is a fantastic actor, so his turn didn't surprise me here, but as usual he did a great job.

So two down, dozens more to go on my list. Next up from Netflix is Animal House and Metropolis. Hope y'all had a nice weekend. :)

I began playing World of Warcraft again yesterday due to the new expansion being released, and am already feeling the crack-like effects. Such an amazing game world...

In my continuing efforts to lose weight as well as eat and drink better, I am now weening myself onto black coffee. Wow it's awful...

Hey y'all, I know a lot of y'all are fans of both Buffy and Supernatural on my flist, so I thought I'd pose this question to y'all taken from a blog article of the same name...

Is Supernatural as good as Buffy?

Personally, as much as I love both Buffy and Angel, to me Supernatural is the superior show in nearly every way. Not since Firefly has a show gripped my heart and mind as much as Supernatural does. The characters, the acting, the stories, the humor, the action, it all just melds so well together for me that few shows have that I can't help but rank it above nearly anything else. I mean hell, I have a tattoo from Supernatural, and I plan on getting a Serenity one. What does that tell ya? ;)

So what about you guys? I'd love to get a discussion going on this topic. :)
